Communicators and colleagues muddied the conversation, getting down and dirty in City Park, New Orleans, where we planted approx. 200 square feet of Spartina grasses in a brackish lake. Caitlin Reilly, Ag Extension specialist at LSU, was our mentor and supplied tons of plants and digging instruments as well as background on the plants and the area. The marsh had been impacted by both natural and human forces. We saw a phenomenally successful stand of marsh grass planted a year earlier. We finished in record time and were able to have stroll in the lovely sculpture garden and a congenial lunch complete with CrawTaters. Several of us are now searching for a laundromat.
